November 2023 Issue
Letter from the Chief Executive Officer
As you read the stories in this newsletter, you might note a common theme: People running out of money near the end of every month.
That’s particularly true for Oklahomans on limited incomes; their Social Security and/or disability checks, even combined with SNAP benefits, can only stretch so far.
“The pantry helps me get through from payday to payday,” says one senior. “Every little bit helps.”
Those words apply to so many people in our service area. To seniors. To families. To children. To everyone struggling to make ends meet — a struggle that seems more pronounced than ever with such high prices at the grocery store.
This holiday season, we can work together to make a big difference for our neighbors in that situation. Let’s join together and ramp up the fight against hunger and now is the perfect time to do so, thanks to the Regional Food Bank’s Holiday Match.
Thanks to the match, every $1 you give will double in impact to provide 8 nutritious meals! Thank you.
Gratefully,
Stacy Dykstra, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer
P.S. Many of your neighbors are counting on you. Please give today, when your gift will have twice the impact!
