The minimum age requirement is 8 years of age. 

Beginning June 14, 2021, the Regional Food Bank will accept court-mandated community service volunteers who adhere the following steps. Acceptance of community service volunteers is at the discretion of the Regional Food Bank staff.

  • Charges must be non-child related, non-violent and non-sex related offenses.
  • You must first complete a court-mandated community service registration. 
  • You must upload a verification of your charges and a government issued ID when registering for an orientation.
  • Once you have completed the registration, then you may register for volunteer shifts.
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before your shift begins and let the greeter at the door know that you are completing court-mandated community service hours. There will be additional paperwork to complete once you are on-site to volunteer.

Yes, to receive credit for your service-learning hours you must create a volunteer profile and register for each volunteer shift.

Individual Volunteers

Visit rfbo.org/volunteer and click on Individuals.

Group Volunteers

A group is considered six or more people.

Our volunteer shifts have varied maximum capacities depending on the month and shift.

  • Visit rfbo.org/volunteer then select “Group”.
  • Volunteers coming as part of an approved group reservation should not register as individuals. Please see the Group Volunteer page for information.
  • Please read the group volunteer information then select the month of which you would like to volunteer. We keep our schedules posted three months in advance.
  • Fill out the Volunteer Group Request form for the date, time and spaces you would like to reserve.
    • If you do not see the date or time you were hoping for it means that shift does not have enough capacity available to accommodate your group. Please look for a shift with enough space according to your group size.
  • You will receive an email from us within 48 hours of submitting your group request with further instructions.

Yes . We do our best to make our volunteer opportunities accessible to everyone. Please email volunteer@rfbo.org in advance to let us know of ways that we could assist you and ensure a successful and positive experience.

Yes. Volunteers will receive training and safety procedures for each project they are assigned to once they arrive for their shift.

Our address is 3355 S. Purdue Ave., Oklahoma City. We’re located in southwest Oklahoma City, not too far from the airport. You can find us just north of Southwest 36th Street, between MacArthur and Meridian.

  • Comfortable work clothes.
  • Closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops allowed), this requirement is for safety reasons. Volunteers wearing flip flops, sandals or any shoes where toes are exposed will be unable to volunteer.
