What is SNAP?

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a federal program that provides extra money for groceries each month for qualified households. SNAP benefits are deposited onto an electronic card (EBT) that is used like an ATM or bank card.

Where can I use SNAP?

You can use SNAP at most supermarkets, grocery stores and even some farmers’ markets, making it possible for individuals and families to shop for fresh produce, foods that meet specific dietary needs and foods fulfilling cultural preferences. You can also buy seeds and plants that grow food.
