Dolese Bros. Co. first forged their partnership with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma in 2012, when a group of employees came to volunteer as a way to give back to the community.

Pam Pettigrew, Dolese’s director of procurement, organized that first event. It was such a success, that the company has continued the effort every year since then, with the exception of when they were unable to come due to COVID-19.

Employees spend their time working in the Volunteer Center to pack and prepare food, and they’ve participated in the Backpack Program and organized food drives at their plants and their corporate services center.

“Our mission is to improve our communities through our products, actions and support. One way to improve communities is to help ensure that no one in our communities goes hungry, and our partnership with [the Regional Food Bank] helps fulfill that,” says Kermit Frank, Vice President, Communications & Community Relations. “Because we have batch plants and quarries throughout Oklahoma, we appreciate the fact that [the Regional Food Bank] reaches communities not just in Oklahoma City but in the broader region as well.”

Dolese’s work with the Regional Food Bank follows closely in line with their mission, not only helping the community through their actions, but also through donations of products and support. They donated concrete and other building materials for the construction of our headquarters, and the company has provided valuable matching funds for the Governor’s Food Drive, Fight Hunger Faster, Food for Kids and holiday matching campaigns over the years.

In September, Dolese held its annual “Rock the Block” event, a community event featuring a variety of construction equipment and trucks for children of all ages to explore. Every year, they hold a food drive during the event to benefit the Regional Food Bank, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

“We appreciate our continuing relationship with [the Regional Food Bank] and the work they do to fight hunger in our communities,” says Frank.

Thank you, Dolese! We appreciate the many ways you support our work, and all you do to make our communities stronger.
