Fall is right around the corner, along with a new school year, new beginnings and new routines. But the cost of food remains high. That means many of our neighbors in central and western Oklahoma will continue to experience food insecurity and hunger this fall.
Fortunately, some children will start receiving free meals when they go back to school, easing the burden on families to provide three meals a day at home. But this summer, children still need a steady source of vitamins and nutrients to grow, develop and thrive. There are also many others experiencing hunger and hardship right now.
That’s why I encourage you to please take advantage of our Food for Kids Match Campaign, and double your impact thanks to a generous $290,455 matching gift from Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma, Expand Energy, Mark and Beth Brewer, Dolese Bros. Corp., Energy Transfer and David and Lezlie Hudiburg. Every $1 helps provide 6 meals, which is twice as many as usual!
With your compassionate support, we can provide the nutritious meals our neighbors need. I hope you enjoy this edition of The Link and are reminded of the vital difference your support means to families in our community.
Then, I hope you’ll consider giving to help even more children, families and older neighbors. Your gift today will DOUBLE to help provide a strong start to children and families this new school year.
Gratefully,
Stacy Dykstra, Ph.D.
