In central and western Oklahoma, thousands of hardworking families with children are struggling to make ends meet.

To help his daughter’s family, Tommy recently started bringing his 14-year-old grandson, Zander, to the Norman Smith Memorial Library in Hinton, where the Regional Food Bank offers summer Grab & Go meals.

“My daughter lives 10 miles from here and works at home all day. Her husband works all the time, too, so they can’t get here, and they can’t get out to go grocery shopping,” Tommy explains. “That’s why I bring Zander here.”

The extra food Zander brings home to his family really helps to keep easy meals on hand.

“With inflation and the high prices for food, everybody needs this kind of help,” Tommy says.

“It’s awesome,” Zander adds. “I especially love the spaghetti. The food we get here is free, so we don’t have to use what little money we have at the grocery store, and it lasts for weeks. That’s good, because I like to eat stuff up.”

Your compassionate support makes a real difference for families like Zander’s. Thank you!
