April 16, 2025 – The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma will celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Week April 21 through 26 with a week full of themed-volunteer shifts, games and thank-you gifts.
“Volunteers truly are the heartbeat of the Regional Food Bank,” said Stacy Dykstra, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. “We rely on their passion to help deliver meals to homebound Oklahomans, they save us millions of dollars each year by packing meals for our neighbors and they bring energy each day to help us continue pushing toward our vision of an Oklahoma where no one goes hungry.”
The Regional Food Bank offers several unique volunteering opportunities including bagging and boxing food products, assembling Food for Kids meals and snacks, packaging Senior Servings meals, assisting at mobile food distributions as well as stocking shelves and assisting guests at the Regional Food Bank Food & Resource Center.
Volunteers are encouraged to participate in theme days throughout Volunteer Appreciation Week:
April 21: School Pride
April 22: Fun in the Sun
April 23: Western Day
April 24: Pajama Movie Night
April 25: Food Day
April 26: Sports Day
Throughout the week, volunteers will be given special prizes and giveaways donated by Regional Food Bank partners. Sign up for a volunteer shift at rfbo.org/volunteer.
Volunteer Appreciation Week is made possible thanks to donations from CITGO, Lopez Dorada Foods and Tinker Federal Credit Union.
