June 15, 2021 – Jersey Mike’s Subs central Oklahoma locations raised $107,825 for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma’s Food for Kids Programs during the restaurant’s annual Month of Giving fundraiser in March.

The 2021 Month of Giving total comes in well above Jersey Mike’s previous record high of $77,055. Central Oklahoma Jersey Mike’s locations have chosen to support the Regional Food Bank’s Food for Kids Programs since 2012 and have raised $569,525 to support Oklahoma children living with food insecurity.

“We were absolutely blown away when we learned of this year’s Month of Giving donation,” said Stacy Dykstra, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. “The Regional Food Bank cannot thank our local Jersey Mike’s, and its employees, enough for their hard work and dedication to the fight against childhood hunger in Oklahoma.”

During the Month of Giving, 11 locations encouraged customers to donate to the Regional Food Bank’s Food for Kids Programs. The Month of Giving culminates with a Day of Giving where 100% of proceeds are donated to the Regional Food Bank.

“This is such a big deal for Jersey Mike’s both locally and nationally and all of our crews were super excited to be able to participate this year,” said Charlie Brown, franchise owner and area director for Jersey Mike’s. “I want to thank our fantastic customers for supporting our efforts this Month of Giving and for helping us make a huge difference in our community.”

In Oklahoma, one in four children are food insecure. Last school year, the Regional Food Bank provided food assistance to 36,995 chronically hungry children through its Food for Kids Programs: The Backpack Program, the School Pantry Program, Kids Cafés and the Summer Feeding Program.

“For just $100 the Regional Food Bank is able to support a child in one of the four Food for Kids Programs for an entire year. This donation itself could support 1,078 children in our Food for Kids Programs for an entire year.” Dykstra said.
