Getting by hasn’t been easy for Jimmy.
A former employee at the Oklahoma State Fair Park, Jimmy now collects disability insurance after an injury forced him to give up work.
Unfortunately, that means that his budget is tight, even when he’s only supporting himself (and the occasional stray animal that visits his house).
“Prices have risen high, and it’s hard to try and make ends meet,” he says. “It’s almost like a regular grocery store,” he says of his ability to choose his own items.
When a friend told him about the Regional Food Bank Food & Resource Center, he decided to visit and was pleasantly surprised. This choice-based model offers a sense of dignity that stands out for neighbors in need of food assistance.
For Jimmy, being able to access nutritious food from the pantry means he can stretch his budget and free up limited funds for other critical needs.
When asked what he would say to the donors who make this pantry possible, his message was simple and direct: “Continue your support. Your support is greatly needed, and thank you.”
We want to say thank you, too. Your support helps neighbors like Jimmy live with hope and dignity.
