With a grandchild on the way, Brenda is doing what any good grandma would do: making sure everything’s ready for that baby!

That includes taking care of her expectant daughter, Abby, whom Brenda brought along to the Project 66 Food & Resource Center in Edmond. Project 66, a Regional Food Bank partner, is a faith-based ministry providing food to families in need.

Project 66’s stated goal is “to provide each family with enough basic food for at least two weeks.” And Brenda and Abby were there to stock up for the weeks ahead.

Brenda not only wants to make sure the mom-to-be is getting good nutrition, but that her grandchild also has a source for meals, diapers and more when the time comes.

“I struggle month to month to make sure we have plenty of food to feed everybody, and still be able to pay all my bills,” says Brenda. “I get food stamps, but they don’t go as far as they used to.”

Abby nods in agreement. She and her husband live on a limited income, and there’s never enough to last the whole month.

That’s why she shares her mom’s gratitude for Project 66 and the Regional Food Bank … and for your kindness.

“Thank you,” she says. “It helps a lot!”

Your compassion helps growing families to have confidence that they’ll have enough from month to month.
