SNAP BENEFITS DECREASED IN MARCH 2023

Your SNAP benefits were reduced in March as a result of federal policy changes.

WHAT CHANGES ARE HAPPENING

SNAP benefits increased during COVID-19 due to the public health emergency. Since April 2020, Oklahomans have received their regular monthly benefit and a SNAP emergency allotment. The final SNAP emergency allotments went out in February 2023.

SNAP recipients saw their benefits decrease. The size of the cut each depends on income and household size.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

For the past three years, you have been receiving the max SNAP benefits for your household size. These extra benefits were intended to help pay for food costs during the COVID emergency and were launched in 2020 by Congress. New federal rules within the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 have brought the max benefits to an end.

The Regional Food Bank’s service area encompasses 53 counties in central and western Oklahoma (the areas shaded in green). The remaining 24 counties are served by Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.
