Senior Home Delivery Program

Through a partnership with EMBARK, the Oklahoma City metro area transit system, the Regional Food Bank delivers food boxes each month to homebound residents who are 60 years of age or older and identified as being food insecure and unable to get to a food pantry. In addition, the Regional Food Bank is using several volunteers to make weekly home deliveries to metro area households who meet the USDA requirements (200% of poverty level) and are unable to visit a food pantry.

The COVID-19 pandemic led to an increase in Oklahomans looking to the Regional Food Bank for food assistance. As a senior living on a limited income, Debra was unable to leave her home. The home delivery program helped connect her with food on her doorstep.

“I hate having to beg for food. I have taken care of myself since I was 15 and now I really struggle to do so. Thank you so very much. This is such a big help. I really appreciate the support.”
