April 19, 2022 – Walmart and Sam’s Club have launched the annual Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign, which supports the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma’s work in 53 counties in central and western Oklahoma through a partnership with Walmart and Sam’s Club suppliers, customers and members. The 2022 Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign will run in-store and online from April 18 through May 15.

“Food insecurity impacts every community in our service area in Oklahoma. The Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign is an easy way everyone can help their neighbors living with hunger,” said Stacy Dykstra, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank.

The Fight Hunger. Spark Change. benefits Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization and its nationwide network of 200 local food banks, of which the Regional Food Bank is a member. Last year, the campaign raised $272,643 for the Regional Food Bank, helping to provide more than 1 million meals.

There are three easy ways for customers and members to participate:

  • Donate at check-out in stores and clubs, or online at either feedingamerica.org/Walmart or FeedingAmerica.org/SamsClub.
  • Round-up at check-out on Walmart.com and the Walmart app.
  • For every participating product purchased in-store or online at Walmart.com or SamsClub.com, the supplier will donate the monetary equivalent of at least one meal ($0.10) on behalf of a Feeding America member food bank at Walmart and five meals ($0.50) at Sam’s Club, up to applicable limits. See specially marked packages or Walmart.com/FightHunger and/or samsclub.com/FightHunger for full details.

To support the Regional Food Bank, customers and members shopping at Walmart and Sam’s Clubs can look for select products from these 27 participating suppliers:

Walmart: Abbott, Body Armor, Bimbo, Bush’s, Clorox Sales Company, Coca Cola Company, Ferrara Candy, General Mills, Great Value, Iovate Health Sciences, Kellogg, Kraft Foods Group, Keurig Dr. Pepper, Post, Monster Energy Co, Materne, Simply Good Foods, Smucker Retail Foods, Unilever, Campbells/Snyder’s Lance, Inc, United States Nutrition

In addition to the campaign, Walmart and Sam’s Club provide donations of both food and funds to support the Regional Food Bank and are consistently the top partners in the Regional Food Bank’s Retail Recovery Program. Through this program the Regional Food Bank and its community-based partners pick up surplus food donations from Walmart and Sam’s Club locations.
