Oct. 7, 2022 – The Walmart and Sam’s Club Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign raised $212,363 for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. The campaign is a partnership between Walmart and Sam’s Club suppliers, customers and members both in-store and online. The donation will help provide nearly 850,000 meals to Oklahomans who are food insecure.

“We are so thankful to Walmart and Sam’s Club, their employees and customers who made this considerable donation possible,” said Stacy Dykstra, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. “Walmart and Sam’s Club also continue to be leaders in our Retail Recovery Program, which contributes thousands of pounds of surplus food donations to our partners every year.”

During April and May, Walmart and Sam’s Club locations across the nation were matched with at least one of 200 local Feeding America® member food banks. Through the campaign, shoppers made monetary donations at checkout or purchased participating items in stores or online to benefit their local food bank. For every participating product purchased in central and western Oklahoma, the participating supplier donated to the Regional Food Bank.

Customers also donated at check-out in-store and online and had the option to round-up their purchase to support the Regional Food Bank on Walmart.com and the Walmart app.
