April 20, 2026 – The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma will celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Week April 21 to 25, with a week full of themed volunteer shifts, games and thank-you gifts.

“Each year, Volunteer Appreciation Week is a time to celebrate the hard work of our volunteers, who are the heartbeat of our organization,” said Stacy Dykstra, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. “They save us thousands of hours and millions of dollars each year, and we could not do this work without them.”

This week-long event includes theme days that encourage volunteers to wear fun attire, a chance to win door prizes and enjoy treats. Throughout the week, volunteers are encouraged to come prepared for their themed shifts, which include a western day, food day and a sports-dedicated shift.

Last fiscal year, more than 47,000 individuals volunteered 117,143 hours in the fight against hunger, saving the organization over $3.59 million in labor costs.

Volunteer Appreciation Week is made possible thanks to presenting sponsor OU Health, as well as donations from Alliance Steel Building Systems, Tinker Federal Credit Union and Lopez-Dorada.
