April 10, 2025 – On Saturday, May 10, letter carriers across Oklahoma will gather food donations from homes on their routes as part of the National Association of Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, presented by the American Fidelity Foundation and OG&E.
Plastic donation bags will be placed in mailboxes across Oklahoma the week of May 5. Residents are encouraged to fill the donation bag, or any plastic bag, with nonperishable food and leave the bag by their mailbox before their letter carrier arrives on Saturday, May 10. All donations will support Regional Food Bank partners in over 200 communities across central and western Oklahoma.
“Stamp Out Hunger is an opportunity for all Oklahomans to help support our vison of an Oklahoma where no one goes hungry,” said Stacy Dykstra, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. “We appreciate our partners at the National Association of Letter Carriers, whose passion during this food drive helps feed thousands of Oklahomans each year.”
Dating back to 1992, the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive has collected more than 13 million pounds of food and raised more than $10 million dollars to fight hunger.
Stamp Out Hunger is made possible thanks to support from presenting sponsors the American Fidelity Foundation and OG&E.
“Food insecurity is a struggle for many of our friends and neighbors across Oklahoma and Stamp Out Hunger makes a life-saving impact by providing access to a reliable source of food and nutrition,” said Christi Woodworth, vice president of marketing and communications for OG&E. “We are only as strong as the communities we serve, and all of the 2,300 employees of OG&E appreciate the chance to work with the Regional Food Bank to ensure no one in Oklahoma goes hungry. Working together, we can reduce food insecurity across Oklahoma, and we encourage others who are able to join us in the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.”
Suggested nonperishable food items include peanut butter, canned tuna and chicken, canned fruits, pasta and canned sauce, soup and stew. Healthy options are also encouraged such as wholegrain and low-sodium items.
To make a financial donation, text “StampOK” to 53-555. Every $1 donated helps to provide three meals to Oklahomans living with hunger.
The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is additionally sponsored by CSAA-AAA Insurance, Bank of Oklahoma, Diamondback Energy, Express Employment International, WEOKIE Foundation, Tyler Media, LocaliQ and Lamar Outdoor.
