Want to generate enthusiasm — and big results for a good cause? Look no further than your local schools.

For the 16th straight year, students of all ages throughout central and western Oklahoma joined forces for the annual Students Against Hunger Food and Fund Drive. Together, students raised tons of food and thousands of dollars during the drive, which will help stock food pantries — and feed hungry families — across the region. The food will help provide hundreds of thousands of meals to Oklahomans facing hunger.

Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School, which called its version of the drive a “CAN-demic,” was the top overall school. They collected 30,725 pounds of food, plus $12,083 in cash donations, totaling 73,935 meals.

Thank you, students, for caring for your communities!
