March 24, 2021 – On March 31, 11 Jersey Mike’s Subs locations in central Oklahoma will celebrate their Day of Giving by donating 100% of sales to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma’s Food for Kids Programs.
The event is the culmination of Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving, where locations encourage customers to donate to the Regional Food Bank throughout March.
“We are so grateful for our dedicated and passionate partners at Jersey Mike’s Subs who have helped raise more than $461,000 to fight childhood hunger over the past nine years,” said Stacy Dykstra, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. “On Wednesday, March 31, visit your local Jersey Mike’s and buy a sub to help fight childhood hunger in Oklahoma.”
On the Day of Giving, Jersey Mike’s is offering free delivery for orders made through the Jersey Mike’s app. Donations can also be made through the app. For a $5 donation, customers will receive a free sub coupon.
One in four Oklahoma children lives with hunger. Last school year, the Regional Food Bank provided food assistance to 36,995 chronically hungry children through its Food for Kids Programs: The Backpack Program, the School Pantry Program, Kids Cafés and Summer Feeding Program. The Food for Kids Programs can be found across the Regional Food Bank’s 53-county service area in central and western Oklahoma. The Regional Food Bank recently heard from a student participating in the Backpack Program in Stephens County.
“My brother and I are so glad we get our food, because my dad says he doesn’t have to worry as much.”
