(OKLAHOMA CITY) – August 22, 2016 – Recently, Stella Modern Italian Cuisine celebrated its sixth birthday party by giving back to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. The celebration, which featured heavy hors d'oeuvres and beverages, raised $3,240. This will provide the equivalent of more than 16,200 meals for hungry families, seniors, veterans and children throughout central and western Oklahoma.
“We want to thank Stella, and its guests, for helping fight hunger in the state,” said Rodney W. Bivens, executive director of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. “Oklahoma is consistently one of the hungriest states in the nation. Donations, like this one from Stella, help us feed the one in six Oklahomans that has inconsistent access to food.”
Stella is located at 1201 N Walker Ave. in Oklahoma City. The restaurant focuses on seasonal, fresh food and a creative wine list.
Established in 1980, the Regional Food Bank is the largest private, domestic hunger-relief organization in the state of Oklahoma. Last fiscal year, the nonprofit distributed more than 52 million pounds of food and products through a network of more than 1,200 charitable feeding programs and schools in 53 central and western Oklahoma counties.
Together, we can solve childhood hunger. Every donation to Food for Kids between now and September 30 will be matched, up to $150,000, thanks to the generosity of the Masonic Fraternity of Oklahoma, Top of the World, David Gorham and two anonymous families. To make a donation, visit foodforkids.us or call 405-600-3136. For more information, visit regionalfoodbank.org.
