(Edmond, Okla.) – Dec. 4, 2017 – On Nov. 20, proceeds from the soft opening of the new S&B’s Burger Joints, located at 840 W. Danforth Rd. in Edmond, benefited the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. For a $10 donation to the nonprofit, guests enjoyed a complimentary meal. Enough funds were raised to provide 18,740 meals for Oklahomans living with hunger.
"Paying it forward and supporting our communities is a key core value for S&B’s. We are honored anytime we are able to partner with the Regional Food Bank," said Shannon Roper, co-owner of S&B’s Burger Joints. "We are so pleased that together with our customers we are helping to our neighbors in need of food."
Oklahoma remains one of the hungriest states in the nation, with one in six residents having inconsistent access to healthy food. The majority of Oklahomans served by the Regional Food Bank are chronically hungry children, seniors living on limited incomes and hardworking families struggling to make ends meet.
“We are so fortunate to have partners like S&B’s Burger Joints and such loyal customers join us in the fight to end hunger,” said Katie Fitzgerald, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank.
