H&R Block Commits to Fight Hunger During Tax Season

(OKLAHOMA CITY) – March 21, 2019 – H&R Block will donate $20 for each new client that mentions the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma during their tax appointments through the end of tax season.

“We are very grateful to H&R Block for this gracious offer that will help feed the one in six Oklahomans with inconsistent access to nutritious food,” said Katie Fitzgerald, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. “With this partnership, our neighbors are able to give back to their community while getting help during the stressful tax season.”

The Regional Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief charity in Oklahoma. In the last year, the organization distributed more than 49 million pounds of food through 1,300 community-based partner agencies, charitable feeding programs and schools. This includes Oklahomans like Stanley. He relies on BritVil Community Food Pantry, a Regional Food Bank partner agency, to help "lessen the blow" financially each month.

"It helps a lot...and helps us stretch," Stanley said. "It warms my heart that it is here."

Tax season ends April 15. Visit hrblock.com to schedule an appointment with a tax advisor.

Through the end of March, you can double the impact of your gifts to the Regional Food Bank with the Senior Match campaign, up to $100,000. One in 10 seniors in Oklahoma lives with hunger daily. Every senior should have access to nutritious, healthy food. Make a donation today at FeedOKSeniors.org or by calling 405-600-3136.
