Arvest Bank Donates $15,000 to Regional Food Bank through 1 Million Meals Initiative

Employees and Customers Give to Help Oklahomans Living with Hunger

(OKLAHOMA CITY) – Oct. 19, 2018 – Arvest Bank recently donated $15,000 to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma as part of the bank’s annual 1 Million Meals initiative. This donation will help provide the equivalent of 60,000 meals for the one in six Oklahomans who lives with hunger.

“Arvest Bank is committed to helping our neighbors in need of food assistance,” said Brenda Gauntt, Oklahoma City marketing manager for Arvest Bank. “We are proud of our associates who not only give to support the 1 Million Meals initiative, but also help to raise awareness about food insecurity in our communities.”

Since 2011, Arvest Bank has donated nearly $128,000 to the Regional Food Bank through the 1 Million Meals initiative.

“I want to thank Arvest Bank, its customers and employees for helping us fight hunger in Oklahoma,” said Katie Fitzgerald, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. “Arvest Bank’s generous donation will help us provide nutritious food to our neighbors in need of food assistance.”

Arvest Bank’s 1 Million Meals is an annual fundraising event that encourages employees, customers and community members to participate in fundraising efforts and food drives in the more than 120 communities Arvest Bank serves. The event helps to increase awareness about the issue of hunger. In total, enough food and funds were raised to provide more than 1.8 million meals for Americans in need of food assistance in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.

It’s never too late to join the fight against hunger in Oklahoma. Each dollar donated helps to provide the equivalent of four meals for Oklahomans with inconsistent access to food. For more information about the Regional Food Bank or to donate, call 405-600-3136 or visit
