(OKLAHOMA CITY) – July 13, 2020 - In celebration of the grand opening of the newest location, Okie Express Auto Wash is donating one week of the location’s operational profits to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to help fight hunger in central and western Oklahoma.
The grand opening celebration runs July 13 through July 17 at the new location at 2801 Watermark Blvd., near May Avenue and Memorial Road in north Oklahoma City.
"We believe in giving back to the community where we do business,” said Mike North, chief executive officer of Okie Express Auto Wash. “The thought of anyone going hungry in our state is just unacceptable. And now with the havoc that the pandemic is causing on our economy, even more Oklahomans are needing assistance feeding their families. We're proud of our partnership with the Regional Food Bank and look forward to helping in their mission to feed fellow Oklahomans."
Over the last decade, Okie Express Auto Wash and its customers have donated more than $242,700 to the Regional Food Bank to help provide meals to the one in six Oklahomans who live with hunger.
"Having longstanding, dedicated partners like Okie Express is vital to our mission of fighting hunger in Oklahoma," said Deb Bunting, interim CEO of the Regional Food Bank. "Their generosity has helped us provide more than 1 million meals to Oklahomans living with food insecurity. We are so grateful for their partnership."
At each of the 10 Okie Express locations in the metro, customers have the opportunity to make a $1 donation to the Regional Food Bank when they purchase their auto wash. For every dollar provided the Regional Food Bank can provide four meals to Oklahomans living with food insecurity.
Okie Express has 10 metro-area locations:
