(OKLAHOMA CITY) — Oct. 20, 2017 – On Saturday, Oct. 28 from 7 to 9 p.m., the Wheeler District is once again hosting the Food For All food truck, with net proceeds from the night benefitting the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Guest chef Rob Johnson from US Foods will be cooking up bacon pimento cheese bahn mi served with Addis spice fresh, crispy potato chips. Servings are limited to the first 100 diners, so make sure to come early to enjoy these tasty treats.
Throughout the year, Wheeler District hosts Food For All food truck fundraising events that benefit the Regional Food Bank. Each event features local chef or chefs, like Chef Johnson, who donate their time and expertise to create culinary meals with ingredients donated by Whole Foods Market.
“The Wheeler District and the Food for All food truck are valued partners in the fight against hunger in Oklahoma,” said Katie Fitzgerald, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. “Thanks to their support and that of Whole Foods Market, every dollar raised will provide the equivalent of five meals to the one in six Oklahomans with inconsistent access to food.”
Oklahoma remains one of the hungriest states in the country. The majority of Oklahomans served by the Regional Food Bank are chronically hungry children, seniors living on a fixed income and working families who cannot make ends meet every month.
Together we can solve hunger. To donate, please visit regionalfoodbank.org/donate or call 405-972-1111. For more information on the Wheeler District Food for All food truck visit wheelerdistrict.com/event.
