(OKLAHOMA CITY) – July 5, 2016 – Flips Wine Bar and Trattoria has joined the fight against hunger in Oklahoma. Recently, the organization made a $350 donation to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. This donation will provide 1,750 meals for children, families and seniors struggling with hunger in Oklahoma.

“I feel like the Regional Food Bank is an extremely worthy charity because it is so critical that we fight hunger at the very base level,” said Betsy Mitschke, co-owner of Flips Wine Bar and Trattoria. “It is just a powerful motivator to get involved and do something whenever you stop and think that there are so many people in Oklahoma right under our noses that are going hungry.”

Flips Wine Bar and Trattoria, located at 5801 N Western Ave.in Oklahoma City, is open Monday through Sunday.  For more information visit flipswinebar.com.

One in six adults has inconsistent access to food.  Established in 1980, the Regional Food Bank is the largest private domestic hunger-relief organization in the state of Oklahoma. In fiscal year 2015, the Regional Food Bank distributed 49.9 million pounds of food through a network of 1,250 charitable feeding programs and schools throughout 53 central and western Oklahoma counties.

"The food you provide for us helps a lot. Otherwise, we would go without,” shared a client of the Regional Food Bank. “I really appreciate what you do."

The Regional Food Bank’s administrative and fundraising costs consistently remain below four percent, which means 96 cents out of every dollar donated goes to feed Oklahomans struggling with hunger.

Together, we can solve hunger. For more information about the Regional Food Bank, or to make a donation, visit regionalfoodbank.org or call 405-600-3136.
