(OKLAHOMA CITY) – Feb. 1, 2017– Throughout 2017, Dolese will match all donations made to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma through the nonprofit’s Volunteer Center – up to $20,000. Once met, this match will provide the equivalent of 200,000 meals for chronically hungry children, hardworking families and seniors with inconsistent access to food.
“Dolese and its employees believe in the importance of playing an active role in the communities where we work, live and play,” said Dolese Communications and Community Relations Director Kermit Frank. "Upon hearing about this opportunity and knowing Oklahoma’s need to address hunger in our communities, we were excited to lend our support to this unique landmark initiative. Dolese saw a natural fit with mission of the Regional Food Bank as our employees enjoy routinely volunteering here. We look forward to using this opportunity to multiply our efforts. We invite and challenge others to join us in the fight to end hunger in Oklahoma.”
Oklahoma is one of the hungriest states in the nation. In fact, one in six Oklahomans struggles with hunger. Thanks to volunteers and donors, the Regional Food Bank provides enough food to feed 126,000 Oklahomans every week.
“Through the Dolese Delivers Match, every dollar donated by volunteers will provide 10 meals for our neighbors struggling to put food on the table,” said Katie Fitzgerald, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. “I want to thank Dolese and our volunteers for delivering a strong foundation in the fight against hunger.”
