(OKLAHOMA CITY) – March 6, 2018 – On Feb. 6, Bob Moore Auto Group presented the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma with a $2,800 check from the Bob Moore – Sack Hunger promotion. For every sack recorded by the Oklahoma State University’s football team during the 2017 season, the Bob Moore Auto Group donated $100 to the Regional Food Bank.
“We are so thankful for this generous donation, that will provide the equivalent of 11,200 meals to chronically hungry children, hardworking families and seniors on fixed incomes,” said Katie Fitzgerald, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. “In Oklahoma, one in six adults have inconsistent access to healthy food. No Oklahoman should ever have to wonder where their next meal will come from.”
Established in 1980, the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is the state’s largest hunger-relief organization. Last year, the Regional Food Bank of distributed more than 52 million pounds of food through a network of 1,300 community-based charitable feeding programs and schools throughout 53 central and western Oklahoma counties.
Together, we can end hunger. Oklahomans can double the impact of their gifts to help feed even more seniors on fixed incomes. Through March 15, donations to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to fight senior hunger will be matched – up to $100,000. Together, we can make sure every senior has access to nutritious, healthy food. Make a donation today at feedokseniors.org or call 405-600-3136. After the match is met, every $1 donated will provide four meals for seniors living with hunger.
