Regional Food Bank Prepares for Long-Term Wildfire Recovery

Encourages Donations to Help Feed Families While They Recover and Rebuild

(OKLAHOMA CITY) – April 16, 2018 – The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is accepting donations to assist with long-term wildfire recovery across Oklahoma. Donations will provide food assistance to Oklahomans impacted by the wildfires while they recover and rebuild.

“The impact of the Oklahoma wildfires will last for months, if not years,” said Katie Fitzgerald, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. “We are committed to supporting these communities throughout the recovery and relief efforts.”

The most efficient and effective way to help feed Oklahomans impacted by the wildfires is through a coordinated response. To make a financial donation, visit regionalfoodbank.org/HelpOK. A $10 donation can also be made by texting DISASTER to 501501.*

“The compassion and generosity of Oklahomans is never more evident than during and after a disaster,” said Fitzgerald.

Donations can also be made to the follow organizations to assist with relief efforts:

  • Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Foundation - Make checks payable to Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Foundation with “Fire Relief” in the memo line and mail to P.O. Box 82395, Oklahoma City, OK 73148 or donate online at www.okcattlemen.org
  • Oklahoma Farmers and Ranchers Foundation - Make checks payable to the Oklahoma Farmers and Ranchers Foundation with “Wildfire Relief” in the memo line and mail to 2501 N. Stiles, Oklahoma City, OK 73105 or donate online at www.okfarmingandranching.org
  • Oklahoma Farmers Union Foundation - Make checks payable to Farmers Union Foundation, Inc., with “Wildfire Relief” in the memo line and mail to the attention of Wildfire Relief at P.O. Box 24000, Oklahoma City, OK 73124.
