WHAT EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES DOES THE REGIONAL FOOD BANK OFFER?

Our curriculum includes activity-based lessons, supplemental worksheets, and teacher resources. All lessons are in line with Oklahoma Pass Skills and Common Core Standards.
Hunger Simulations
Our hunger simulation is an interactive activity that puts participants in the shoes of Oklahomans at risk of going hungry. It includes budgeting and decision making and helps volunteers understand why hunger happens and who our hungry are. Hunger simulations are targeted towards middle school and high school students and adult groups.
Tours
Tours of the Regional Food Bank show the scale, means, and level of efficiency at which food is distributed by our warehouse. They include the history of the Food Bank, personal hunger stories and statistics about current hunger issues, and information about different programs of the Regional Food Bank. Long and short versions are available, depending on each group’s availability and interest.
