SUMMARY:Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
DESCRIPTION:Stamp Out Hunger is the largest single-day food drive in the nation. The Regional Food Bank partners with the U.S. Postal Service and the National Association of Letter Carriers to collect food across our service area.\nThe week of the drive\, letter carriers deliver a plastic bag to each mailbox on their route. The bag instructs that customer to fill the bag with shelf stable food and place it in their mailbox on Saturday\, May 11. Letter carriers then pick that food up on May 11 and deliver it back to their post offices\, where it is sorted by Regional Food Bank volunteers. DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, May 13\, letter carriers across central and western Oklahoma will collect nonperishable food donations from homes on their routes as part of the 31st National Association of Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Oklahoma residents will receive plastic donation bags in their mailbox the week of May 8. On May 13\, residents are encouraged to fill the bag\, or any plastic bag\, with nonperishable food and leave it by their mailbox before their letter carrier arrives. \nAll nonperishable items are welcomed. Recommended items include peanut butter\, canned tuna and chicken\, canned fruits\, pasta and canned sauce\, soup and stew. Healthy food options are also needed\, such as whole grain and low-sodium. \nFinancial donations are also accepted. Text “Food” to 501-501 to make a $10 donation. Every $1 donated helps to provide four meals to Oklahomans living with hunger.

The Farm Bill is reauthorized every five years. The Farm Bill is set for reauthorization in 2023. \nThe townhall will serve as an opportunity for Oklahomans to share perspectives that the Congressman can take into consideration.
