Nov. 19, 2021 – Downs Family Christmas Light Ministry will kick off the 2021 season on Nov. 25 and will collect food and funds to benefit the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma for the 13th consecutive year.

The annual holiday light display runs from 6 p.m. to midnight every day, weather permitting, from Thanksgiving evening through the end of the year. Visitors enjoy the more than 18 miles of light displays synchronized to holiday music from the comfort of their own vehicles.

“Each year, the Downs family steps up to create an amazing holiday light show that is fun for the whole family,” said Stacy Dykstra, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. “The Downs Family Christmas Light Ministry is one of the best holiday traditions in the metro and we are very honored to be the beneficiary of their generosity once again.”

The display is free, but visitors are encouraged to make a monetary or food donation to the Regional Food Bank. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the holiday light show brought in one of its largest annual totals: $50,184 and 9,010 pounds of food.

The display is located at 2900 72nd Ave. S.E. in Norman, Okla. Visit downsfamilychristmas.com or follow the Downs Family Christmas Light Ministry on Facebook to learn more about the show.

Oklahoma is the fifth hungriest state in the nation. Through Jan. 15, every donation to the Regional Food Bank is matched, up to $500,000, thanks to generous gifts from APMEX and the Cresap Family Foundation. Double your impact by making a donation at rfbo.org/give or by calling 405-600-3136.
