Feb. 17, 2022 – The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma received a $25,000 donation from Bank of America as part of the company’s COVID-19 employee vaccine booster initiative. Bank of America donated $100 for every Oklahoma City employee who received a COVID-19 booster shot before the end of January.

“Bank of America continues to be innovative leaders in the fight against hunger in Oklahoma,” said Stacy Dykstra, chief executive officer of the Regional Food Bank. “We are so grateful for Bank of America employees and leadership who made this donation possible. This donation alone will help to provide for more than 100,000 meals for our neighbors living with food insecurity.”

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, Bank of America has provided more than $366,134 to the Regional Food Bank in support of the fight against hunger.

“Food banks and hunger relief organizations are experiencing increased demand and higher costs as the pandemic continues, and many need assistance to fully meet the needs of individuals and families,” said Tony Shinn, president of Bank of America Oklahoma City. “Oklahoma City is a great city, and our commitment to help strengthen and serve this community is unwavering, which is why we are investing in the health, safety and wellbeing of our teammates while also providing funds to help local organizations support our neighbors and fight food insecurity.”

Oklahoma is the fourth hungriest state in the nation. The Regional Food Bank and its network of partners distributed more than 57 million pounds to Oklahomans in need of food assistance in the past year. Learn more about the fight against hunger by visiting rfbo.org.
