Project Runway Star Johnathan Kayne Werks That Tip at TapWerks Benefit Event
Dec. 8, 2009
Oklahoma City – On December 9, Project Runway star and Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma Celebrity Council member Johnathan Kayne will serve up drinks for tips at TapWerks on the second floor from 5 to 9 p.m. to benefit the hungry in Oklahoma.
"This is a cause I feel very passionate about," said Kayne. "By bringing together the Celebrity Council for this event, I hope to get a lot of people out to have a good time and help more Oklahomans who are in great need."
Joining Kayne will be three additional Regional Food Bank Celebrity Council members: KMGL's "Magic Man" Jeff Roberts and singer/songwriters K.C. Clifford and Sherree Chamberlain, who will also be bartending and donating tips to the cause. The Celebrity Council consists of a committed group of Oklahoma's community leaders who have stepped up to raise their voice in the fight against hunger.
All of the tips collected will go directly to the Regional Food Bank. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to register to win prizes for $2 donation, which will be given away once every hour.
Hunger in Oklahoma is a serious problem – 500,000 Oklahomans are at risk of going hungry every day, including one in every five Oklahoma children. With the holidays quickly approaching, access to food becomes even more important to families who are struggling to get by.
"We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from our Celebrity Council members," said Rodney W. Bivens, executive director of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. "This funds raise at this event will help us to extend our reach to even more families, seniors and children in need this holiday season."
TapWerks is located at 121 E Sheridan Ave in Oklahoma City. For more information on the event, call TapWerks at 405-319-9599. For more information on hunger in Oklahoma, or to donate to the Regional Food Bank, call 405-972-1111.
