Regional Food Bank in the Running to Win $45,000
Vote Online to Help Fight Hunger
OKLAHOMA CITY – The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is in the running to win a $45,000 grant from Walmart, but needs the community’s support to help them win. The nonprofit is asking supporters to visit regionalfoodbank.org and click on the Walmart carousel to vote for the hunger-fighting nonprofit. The top 40 Food Banks in the country with the most votes at the end of the Facebook campaign on April 30 will be awarded $45,000.
The Regional Food Bank is currently in 40th place but needs daily votes to stay in the running. Individuals can vote once a day, every day between now and April 30. You must have a Facebook page in order to vote. You can also find the link to the Walmart voting page on the Regional Food Bank’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/regionalfoodbank.
The Regional Food Bank fights childhood hunger in 53 central and western Oklahoma through Food for Kids. This hunger initiative consists of the Backpack, School Pantry, Kids Cafe, and Summer Feeding Programs to ensure that children receive hope, in the form of food, over the weekend and when school is not in session.
