Make Your Tax Refund Count
Pay it Forward to Help Feed Hungry Oklahomans
February 14, 2013
OKLAHOMA CITY – It’s easy to “pay it forward” this tax season. If you are receiving a refund on your individual, joint or corporate 2012 Oklahoma tax return, you may now donate a portion of your refund to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. By checking the box for “Oklahoma Food Banks” on Schedule 511- G, a portion of your tax return can provide hope, in the form of food, to more families, seniors and children throughout Oklahoma.
“Support in the fight against hunger in Oklahoma is vital now more than ever,” said Rodney Bivens, executive director of the Regional Food Bank. “One in six Oklahomans struggles with hunger every day. Every dollar counts. In fact, every dollar donated to the Food Bank will provide five meals to our neighbors in need.”
Since 2008, more than $83,000 has been donated to the Oklahoma Food Banks through tax return donations.
