Chili’s Supports Food Bank

15 Percent of Sales on Thursday Benefits Regional Food Bank

November 20, 2013

OKLAHOMA CITY – Chili’s is teaming up with Feeding America and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to fight hunger in our state.  On Thursday, Nov. 21, 15 percent of all sales at Chili’s locations in Enid, Edmond, Oklahoma City, Shawnee, Norman, and Yukon will be donated to the Regional Food Bank.  Customers must let their server know they would like to participate in the promotion.

Thanks to the Regional Food Bank’s Holiday Match campaign, donations from this giveback night will also be matched.   Between November 15 and January 15 Chesapeake Energy Corporation and a caring local family have teamed up to match every dollar donated to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma - up to $1 million!

One in six Oklahomans struggles with hunger every day.  In fact, Oklahoma consistently ranks as one of the top ten hungriest states in the nation.

Established in 1980, the Regional Food Bank is the largest private hunger-relief organization in Oklahoma. In Fiscal Year 2013, the nonprofit distributed 47.9 million pounds of food and products through a network of more than 1,000 charitable feeding programs and schools in 53 central and western Oklahoma counties. Each week, the organization provides enough food to feed more than 90,000 hungry Oklahomans.
