Plaza Bands Together to Fight Hunger
Donations Needed to Help Hungry Oklahomans

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Plaza District is encouraging patrons to bring non-perishable food donations from now until November 8th to fight hunger in Oklahoma. Participating store locations in the Plaza will be collecting donations for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Donated cans will be used in a community art project during the Plaza District’s monthly second Friday art walk, LIVE on the Plaza, sponsored by Fowler Volkswagen of Norman. LIVE on the Plaza is November 8th, from 7pm-11pm. There will also be a district-wide food drive during the Plaza District’s monthly daytime event, Plaza Sunday, November 3rd, 1pm-4pm.

Established in 1980, the Regional Food Bank is the largest private hunger-relief organization in the state of Oklahoma. In Fiscal Year 2013, the nonprofit distributed 47.9 million pounds of food and products through a network of more than 1,000 charitable feeding programs and schools in 53 central and western Oklahoma counties. Each week, the organization provides enough food to feed more than 90,000 hungry Oklahomans.
The Plaza District Association is a 501c3 organization that has been working to revitalize NW 16th in Oklahoma City since 1997.
