Started as a pilot program in 2003, the Regional Food Bank now serves more than 7,100 chronically hungry children in 239 elementary schools across 37 central and western Oklahoma counties.  If you are interested in starting the Food 4 Kids program at your school, please contact the Regional Food Bank to apply.  Any elementary school that serves low-income children can apply.

The Food Bank supplies and delivers pre-assembled food sacks and backpacks to participating schools at no cost to the school.  The Food Bank will also supply a storage cabinet for your school, if it is needed.

School personnel identify children who are chronically hungry and send food home with them in a non-descript backpack.
