Senior Home Deliveries

Senior Citizens

Through the Senior Home Deliveries program, agencies deliver hot meals to homebound seniors. These seniors are often at the greatest risk for going hungry. Risk factors can include lack of transportation, lack of support from friends or family, inability to cook or prepare meals for themselves, or other special needs.

Over 24 home delivery meal programs are partnering with Senior Feeding to identify their clients who are high risk for going hungry. The programs then deliver sacks of nonperishable foods to clients once a month. These food sacks are provided to the programs at no cost by the Regional Food Bank and include mostly individual, open-and-eat items. More than 500 seniors are being served monthly through these partnerships.

To apply to be a Senior Home Deliveries agency or to learn more about the program, please contact Ryan Abernathy at rabernathy@regionalfoodbank.org or 405-600-3151.
