One in five children in Oklahoma live in poverty in Oklahoma. For this very reason, midwestmedia & marketing felt compelled to join the fight against hunger. The company awarded a grant to the Food Bank to create a video about the Food for Kids program, which provides a backpack full of food to chronically hungry children on the weekend and school holidays.
Christopher Hunt, producer of this short film, was really touched by the video. As he said on his blog:
“I guess the thing thing that really stuck out with me during production of this film — was the true need that exist here in OKC for our kids. It blew me away that a donation of $200 could provide a backpack for a year. That was incredible to me. This is an issue that is just not thought about – unless you are in the middle of the situation. My hope is this film will do its part to raise awareness about the program – and motivate people to do something. I don’t think we have to do to much – to make a huge impact on many young lives. These kids need our support – and I think we live in a community that is more than capable of helping them.”
