Frequently Asked Questions
What does the interview process include?
After submitting your resume/application, the Human Resources Director will screen all candidates applying for the position. If you are called for an interview, in most cases, the first interview will be conducted over the phone. If all goes well, the second stage consists of an in-person interview with a panel of Food Bank Directors, including the Human Resources Director who conducted your phone interview. The third and final interview will consist of an in-person meeting the Executive Director. All three stages are standard, but this process could require more or less than the three interviews outlined above. After all the interviews have taken place, a final decision will be made. You will receive the decisions via phone call or email. A pre-employment drug test and physical is required, and your references and background will be checked prior to an offer of employment.
I saw an ad for an open position. What is the salary range?
The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma offers competitive compensation. Salaries will vary depending on the skills and years of experience required. Most postings will ask for your salary requirements along with your cover letter and resume.
I submitted my resume a few days ago. How long will it take before an interview is scheduled?
If a currently available position matches well with your qualifications, you may be contacted to set up a phone interview. Your resume will be kept on file for six months in the event a position for which you qualify becomes available, at that point you will receive an email outlining the position with a request of your interest in the position. If you are interested, your resume will be placed in the screening stage.
Do you have any part-time jobs?
Most of the positions at the Food Bank are full-time, but occasionally a part-time position may be offered. This will depend on the needs of the Food Bank as well as the individual department.
How many employees work at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma?
The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma employs approximately 80 people depending on the time of the year. During the summer months the numbers will be greater due to internships, summer temps, and seasonal help.
Does the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma offer internships?

How do I apply for a job at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma?
As vacancies are posted, applicants will be given the opportunity to apply online by following the link in the job posting. You can also bring your information and/or fill out an application in person. The Food Bank is located at 3355 S. Purdue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73179. Applications and resumes are accepted Monday - Friday, 8-5.
Can I submit a resume for several jobs at the same time?
You can submit a resume for any number of positions for which you believe your experience, education and skill set match the specified requirements. Each applicants resume will be looked at individually for each position, which starts in the screening stage.
Once I submit my resume for a specific opening, will it be considered for other openings as well?
Yes, but it is always encouraged to re-submit your information for each position, as a tailored cover letter is required from all applicants per job posting.
How can I check the status of my resume/application after I have submitted it?
Unfortunately, because of the high volume of resumes we receive, we are unable to provide a personal response to the status of resumes. During the time your resume is retained, you may be contacted to discuss the specific vacancy for which you have submitted your resume, or you may be considered for, and contacted about, other positions, even though you may not have directly submitted your resume for those positions. Calling and/or emailing to check on your resume only slows down the selection process. Every applicant will receive an email or phone call if called for an interview. Remember, sometimes this process may take up to 2 to 3 weeks before interviews begin.
What if I need to update my resume after I have submitted it?
Once your resume/application has been submitted for a specific position, it not necessary to update or revise it at that time. If significant changes to your resume are necessary, you will need to re-submit an updated version by submitting your resume for positions in which you are interested.
